The production of the outer shell for Nolan and Grex brand helmets occurs trough LEXAN™* polycarbonate injection moulding process.
The outer shell is moulded in two sizes - smaller for sizes XXS-M and larger for sizes L-XXL. This is how we achieved the lowest weight, the lowest aerodynamic drag and the best fit to the head, regardless of the driver's figure.
The helmet is approved in P/J double configuration, as the removable protective chin guard has passed the homologation tests required by UN/ECE regulations for full face helmets.
The large surface of the S/R (Scratch Resistant) visor makes it possible to have a broader view, also lateral, thus assuring maximum riding comfort and increasing active safety. Furthermore, the particularly wide window allows the helmet to be used with a mask, even with the visor fitted and open.
Variously colored visors are also available as an option (at extra charge)
Supplied according to segment and with Full Silicone Border (FSB). The patented adjusting system allows the stretch of the Pinlock® inner visor acting from the exterior of the visor, without the necessity of removing.
Moulded out of LEXAN™*, it is S/R (Scratch Resistant) and F/R (Fog Resistant) treated and offers UV protection up to 400 nanometres. It can be easily removed for maintenance and cleaning and is fully-adjustable. The drive system (patented) allows automatic retraction into the non-use position, thus simplifying emergency maneuvers deriving from the need to quickly restore the maximum visibility offered by the visor.
The peak provides excellent protection against the glare of the low sun, and it can also be used simultaneously with the visor installed. It is adjustable in height, and the visor is completely hidden under the visor so that it does not obstruct the view from the helmet. The large opening between the visor and the shell of the helmet allows air to pass through, so that it does not burden the neck while driving. It can be easily installed/removed on the helmet without the use of tools.
The exclusive “AirBooster Technology” upper system ensures optimal ventilation where the rider’s head most requires: the air is extracted from the upper air intake and forced into the most critical areas, avoiding any dispersion, to guarantee maximum comfort also in extreme riding conditions.
Moreover, the ventilation system features:
- a chin guard air intake
this allows ventilation at mouth level and directs air straight to the visor, limiting fogging;
- rear extractors
they allow for the expulsion of hot and stale air guaranteeing optimal comfort inside the helmet.
A new concept, the inner padding is made with double density micro perforated fabric. Combined with the “AirBooster Technology” upper ventilation system, it istributes air in the upper part of the rider’s head.
Removable, washable and fitted with an exclusive adjustment system, it is easily adaptable to the form of the rider and the various set-ups resulting from differing riding positions.
The shape of the wind protector aids the closing of the chin guard and protects from irritating air infiltrations in the chin area.
It is a patented double lever retention system with micrometric adjustment. It consists of a thermoplastic ergonomic opening lever, and of a second aluminium toothed and holding lever. The toothed lever releases the micrometric strip, thus the chin strap can only be open with a very broad rotation of the opening lever. This device minimizes the possibility of unintentional opening.
